Eczema
Eczema is a type of chronic skin inflammation also known as atopic dermatitis. The term eczema applies to various skin conditions, including dryness and recurring skin rashes characterised by one or more of the following symptoms: redness, skin swelling, itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding.
Eczema can occur in small patches all over the body. Eczema in infants is most common on the face and scalp and on the arms and legs. In adults and children the condition is more often seen on the hands or around joints on the arms and legs, such as the inside of the elbows or the backs of the knees.
