ONE-LINER The root Indian women have taken for centuries, at every stage. SUMMARY Organic shatavari root at 500mg a capsule, washed, peeled and dried in India before it is ground. Ayurveda places it closer to women's health than any other plant, and the classical texts recommend it for men as well. One ingredient, certified organic by the Soil Association. LONG DESCRIPTION Cycles that shift, sleep that changes, a body behaving differently than it did five years ago. Most women arrive at shatavari with some version of that. Shatavari is the root Indian women have taken through exactly those years for centuries. Ayurveda places it closer to women's health than any other plant, and the classical texts recommend it for men as well. It comes from Asparagus racemosus, a climbing plant in the asparagus family, and it's the tuberous roots that are used. The name means a hundred roots, and a single plant can put out close to that many. How Ayurveda places it Ayurveda describes it as cooling, sweet and nourishing, one of the moistening herbs rather than the drying ones. It has been part of daily life in Indian homes for two thousand years. The whole root, and nothing beside it Ours is the root only, 500mg a capsule, washed, peeled and dried in India before it's ground. Two ingredients in total. How to take it It's traditionally taken after meals with warm milk, though water is perfectly fine, and it's used steadily across months rather than in a burst. That's how the tradition uses it and it's how we'd suggest approaching it. AT A GLANCE - Certified organic by the Soil Association - Certified Vegan by The Vegan Society - Encapsulated in the UK to GMP standards - Free from fillers, binders and flow agents - Ingredients independently tested for purity One to two capsules a day after meals, traditionally with warm milk. 60 capsules, one to two months' supply. Also available in 60 capsules. Ayurvediq began on a turmeric farm in India. Talia and Graham went out to see where it grew, came back with a good deal more than turmeric, and the range grew from there. We still work with the same growing communities.
